I acknowledge that there needs to be a stop to the cruel and continuous removal of Indigenous peoples from their homelands for any reason, including due to rising housing prices. Give land back and respect Indigenous sovereignty! Reconozco que debe detenerse la cruel y continua expulsi\u00f3n de los pueblos ind\u00edgenas de sus tierras de origen por cualquier motivo, incluso debido al aumento de los precios de vivienda. \u00a1Devuelvan la tierra y respeten la soberan\u00eda ind\u00edgena! Inclusion is not to include a person only to make it look like we are all good. La equidad no significa que todos obtengamos el mismo tipo o nivel de apoyo o adaptaciones que todos los dem\u00e1s.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-6 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>To have Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at the forefront and go beyond these concepts which were ultimately born from the experience of coloniality, is to understand that diversity is contextually specific as it refers to the fact that we have been receiving a one-sided perspective and been functioning within its limitations as certain peoples have been excluded and denied opportunities due to their ties to historically marginalized communities directly in relation to the impact of colonization and modernity. Inclusion means that we will strive to make sure that we will consciously and particularly respect, listen to, and engage with the perspectives and contributions of historically marginalized communities and more important than all, we will embrace and uphold their impact. Digital, oral, and visual formats have spoken specifically to Indigenous cultures in ways in which Eurocentric perceptions are yet to fully grasp. Coloniality is rampant in the western Eurocentric conceptualization of the arts. It is alive and well in parallelly conceived and upheld institutions shaped by the internalization and recurrent impositions of systemic racism, sexism, ableism, homophobia, transphobia, classism along many other -isms and phobias disguised as mythical projects such as the one of modernity, capitalism, and neoliberalism. Vital to this movement, we must listen and learn from the <em>knowledges <\/em>and <em>wisdoms <\/em>that as of now continue to be imagined as marginal, unimportant, niche, or pieces of optional information. The SPARKS panel was the third and final iteration of a series of panel discussions which branched from the 2020 <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/digital-power.siggraph.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Digital Power: Activism, Advocacy, and the Influence of Women Online <\/a>exhibition curated by Kathy Rae Huffman (<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/digital-power.siggraph.org\/panel-discussion\/\" target=\"_blank\">2020 and 2021 panel discussions<\/a>). The goal of the third panel, a Decolonial SPARKS session, was a lively discussion and the expression of important&nbsp;positions for an exploration of what decoloniality means in relation to art, technology, and knowledge production, especially among decolonial digital artists. The Decolonial SPARKS panel included two special invitations to seminal foundational transborder anti-colonial media artists Jose Lozano and Ricardo Dominguez, who have inspired and given fuerza and been an example del esp\u00edritu rebelde to generations of artists at the border and beyond. Decolonial consciousness and praxis rooted in oppressed cultures, has been a true art form for surviving and resisting white <s>supremacy<\/s> and eurocentrism for over 530 years.
